OP will find out when the motor is torn down & the main bearing race in the left side crankcase falls out. Bet the flywheels shifted on the crankpin.

I wonder if I would be cheaper to just plunk in another motor. I don't know if new crate engines are available but I see a guy advertising every once in a while on Craigslist as having tons of motorcycle parts. He is based in St. Louis and shows pics of lots of motors sitting on the shelf.
