Can anyone ID this reddish color by Harley's name for it, for sure?
I call it cinnamon red because it has a cinnamon red tint to it. Kind of a barely brownish red.
It's stock on a 1996 Wide Glide.
This isn't my tank but it shows the color better than my pics do.
I've seen online color charts but they aren't accurate enough for me to be sure. ?? There's more than just one red for this year according to the charts.
According to the 96 brochure, that 2 tone has to be violet and red pearl. The only other 2 tones for wide glides both had platinum as one color. Under the single color names they list patriot red pearl and violet pearl.
Has to be the patriot red peart then, the only red available for wide glides that year.
OK, I'm seeing also a "Victory Red Sunglo" listed for 1996 on the net. That's when I search for and find a few places that list colors. Trouble is, it's Harley dealers advertising touch up paint and no actual color charts are there.
Are you saying that Victory Red wasn't available on Wide Glides?
I think I'm down to Victory or Patriot and I've even seen bikes with those colors listed on the net (for sale ads with pics) but there must not be a huge difference in the colors because I can't be sure on my screen. [:@]
If it's the stock paint the patriot red pearl is the only possibility. Victory SunGlo was available only in some of the two-tones; there's also a platinum victory sunglo available on Electra Glides only. The brochure does not ever include the word red with Victory Sun-Glo, but I'll take your word that it's a red.
Thank you!! I'll take that as gospel as I don't have a brochure. I'm watching for one on Ebay though.
Patriot Red Pearl it is unless you correct that string.
JB
PS I did see a number of Victory Red or Victory Red Sunglo bikes on the net. They might be a purer red, more to a maroon if anything but again I can't tell.
Harley Dealers who have touch up paint on the web call it Victory Red Sunglo but that doesn't make it correct.
I could swear my '93 1200 Sportster was called Bright Victory Red Sunglow, I remember it being a choice. It had more orange in it though.. Been a while since I ordered the paint for it, so I could be wrong..
