One thousand pardons Texashillcountry! Here we go- just did motor mounts, Predator front and stock rear, I chose an Andrews EV13 cam instead of an EV27 because I usually keep the RPMs low and usually travel heavy and dont plan on any boost in compression. Also I was attracted by the claims of the engine running a bit cooler with the EV13. Plus, its 13, my lucky number! I'll be running the Johnson Hylift lifters, S&S quickie push rods and steel breather gear and Dyna 2000i ignition. Also swapped out the INA cam bearing for a Torrington (now called and owned by Koyo Bearings). Going to get the engine squared away before starting on suspension but good shocks are so damn expensive I'm gonna have to do more research on them. Probably use the Progressive upgrade springs on the forks. Some Pirelli Night Dragons are in the works too. Hows that? Let the comments begin.

Paragraphs? I probably skipped school that day. I'll try to put some pics up later, I have to get my wife to help me with that, Im a low-tech dope when it comes to computers. Flhchaz, Im working on a 1998 FXDS-CONVERTABLE I picked up two summers ago. Great bike! Super clean and only 14k on the clock when I got it, has almost 20k on it now.

Not really but it's a simple reliable go to carb even the mechanically challenged can handle and tune, that's a hard combo to turn up the nose at. That's what made the S&S E so popular.

when i bought my 99 fatboy all stock except for the exhaust. i mentioned about putting an s&s super e on it. they service manager and a couple techs where totally against putting the super e on it. their main thing they kept coming back to was the, super e is a racing carb. and unless i want to be into the throttle all the time i wouldn't be happy with it.

Probably was, back in the day when it was first designed - probably all the S&S carbs were for racing, bearing in mind their heritage! However my V107T touring engine came with a G and the successor V111 comes with an E. We have members amongst us with both, on our recently upgraded dressers.

Tell them it's a sad existance to live in ignorance, then go out and get yourself a Super E, put it on yourself and go. It's no harder to install than the stock CV.

Well except I think it's easier to install and since it's bolted to the intake a more secure option.

i have no problems installing a new carb. just the mixed reviews i got, made me wonder if it was worth it. i'm almost sure the stock carb on the bike has never been touched, if it has its ready for a good cleaning and rebuild. might as well put in a new petcock while i'm messing with.

now with the super e right out of the box and a stock 1340 motor are these carbs good out of the box?
i apologize if i hijacked the op's thread.
