Default Handlebar vibrations

I’ve just added a nice 1” pair of 18” apes to my FXRS which runs nice billet triples but with a bolt straight through them metal to metal for the risers.
When I’m sat at the lights idling there is a noticeable vibration more to the left bar .
So do I upgrade to 1 1/2” bars, maybe machine the triples and install bushes or have you guys got any other suggestions?
And no I’m not loosing the apes lol
TIA

Rubber riser bushings is what you need. If you are using solid metal ones, you are just asking for excessive vibration, especially on apes.

Second thing is get a good set of grips. I love my Avon's on my Heritage.

Those two things should take care of the problem.

If you want to smooth it out further, you can install vibranators which are weighted inserts that slip into the end of the bars. I never used them as my Avon grips work really well.

Do you ride with gloves. Gloves will make a big difference.

The main thing though is solid metal riser bushings are known to transfer a lot of vibration. Polyurethane bushings are better but since they are so hard, they are still not as good as rubber for isolating you.

Hey Prot, thanks for the input.
The triples I have will need some work to fit bushes but I will get it done as looking logically it would be easier than new bars after running the wiring through theses apes.
I do usually ride in gloves if they I’m not just flying up to the store etc but I’ve not really noticed if it improves
things or not.

Polyurethane bushings help a little better as well. Even old worn out bushings will cause some bad vibrations.
Welcome aboard and let's see a pic of what you're working with.
