Granted there wasn't a lot of oil misting and dripping out of my air cleaner but there was enough to finally make me do something about it.
A piece of copper pipe that fit into the spigot where the breather hose hooks on, a 180° bend to point into the intake and no more drips down the air cleaner backing plate. I know some of you don't like venting into the intake but unless you have another problem the amount is negligible. I just didn't like the idea of oil collecting in a hose then blurbing out onto the underside of my bike. Nor did I want to be bothered with having to empty a catch can.
I'm not worried about the pipe getting into the intake either. It's well epoxied in and the back end is flared out against the end of the spigot. It ain't goin' nowhere. So, here it is.
I congratulate you on your ingenuity!!
I have to ask why you want that oil going into your combustion chamber?
All that does is add more carbon build up on your heads and pistons.
Personally I just rout my breather to atmosphere and I never have a drippy breather.
But that's just me.
I didn't want it running down a hose and spray the underside of the bike or collecting in a hose then dripping out onto my floor. Besides the amount of mist going down the intake is minor. My plugs aren't oily and there's no real build up in the cylinders. I've checked with my bore scope.
I did a similiar fix on and old Sportster.....epoxy and copper tubing. The "mod" worked fine.....no more oily mess on the side of the bike....especially going over 80 mph.
Good job, similar to what I did to my K &N ,it's always clean, plugs too, that's how it's supposed to be recirculated . Don't think GOD said dump it on the ground,in the air,on the sunglasses of your friends riding behind you or whatever. BUT,people do there own thing..
My bike was a mess when I bought it ....routed down near the rear wheel...
