Default Bought it.

I’ve been going back and forth on a couple of FXR’s, had a bad experience with one local ********, but it all worked out in the end.

Just put a deposit on a “Stone Cold Blue” 1999 FXR2, with 17k miles. $8000. The owner is delivering it to me for what it would have cost me to ship it, and it’ll be here this Sunday. I’m very psyched.

Im going to do all 3 fluids and filter on Sunday, have my supply of Redline ready to go. Going to put new tires on it on Monday and some seafoam in the tank for a fresh start.

Any other suggestions? I need to find a service manual as well.

Here she is:

I’m ridiculously excited. And yes, I know it’s probably going to be dog slow compared to my 110 Low Rider Special, but I don’t ride a H.D. to go fast!

I’ve got a set of Ohlins S36e’s from an old Dyna I’m going to put on her, and probably a set of racetech springs and emulators in the forks. That and a fork brace is all I’m going to do.

Change brake fluid (front and rear) and change fork oil.

Sweet ride. Well done.

All the fluids, like you and THC already said.

Beyond that, well, there's no limit.

Congrats. Nice looking bike. It's pretty great what a cam will do to the bikes! Wink wink

Thanks. Brake fluid. I’m an idiot - completely would have forgot that. Forks are going to get racetech springs and emulators, so I’ll hold off the fluid until they come off. I’ve got a set of Ohlins rears from my Dyna which got the piggyback version, so those will go on if they’re not too long (13.5”?)

Yeah I was planning that too, don’t like the idea of those INA bearings that like to blow up. So cams and torrington bearings will be soon.

We’ll address the right cam in due time

Hey, another question. I know the single disc, single piston brakes are weak, so I’ll be looking at that eventually too (I have to recover from the initial spend...) but can I throw a set of lyndall pads in there for a litttle help maybe?

My suggestion is to ride the wheels off it. It's a clean, good looking bike. Enjoy it!

Wilwood GP310 caliper up front. Direct bolt-on, and a dramatic improvement over the pathetic stock squeezers.

Nice find and good call on the shocks & springs, bike looks like it's been lowered and they ride much better at stock height. You'll find while it may not have the raw power of the 110" it'll have it's own personality and those bikes handle extremely well, might surprise you. You will find yourself hot ******* it with a big grin.
