Default Identifying this Motor

Picked up a project with this motor sitting in the frame. I haven't been able to identify the manufacturer. There are no markings other than the case #"s, and no obvious identifiers. I checked the flywheels and there is only a single line and a single dot for markings.

It is not an early Ultima as I had initially assumed, I called Midwest and verified. All the casting and parts look like it is a complete motor from a maker, not put together from different brands. No marks on the heads or cylinders either.

Thanks for taking a look.

So is removing the lower fins a common thing to do for big boring?

They could be OEM cylinders then, but shaved and polished?

Thanks

The cylinder castings don't look as it they have been shaved, more likely, if it is a completey new build, that they were cast like that, then polished. Might be worth doing a search for other STD engines, to see what you can find.

I thought stroker motors use those style jugs.. You can measure the stroke through the plug hole or you can pull the heads... Might be advisable to disassemble it to make sure of what you have..
