I put the Evo27 cam in and it ran too lean so I added the PCII one of the members sent me the Map he had after the Dyno abuse. Bike runs great now. The biggest difference was I didn't know that you can enter negative numbers. When I tried myself I would enter zero and still be rich. Also changed to High compression pistons.
I had talked to the stealership in Green Bay and they said that the brainbox changed after your years bike which is part of why it isnt listed.
I dont see how that matters as they are the same except the next year thru 2001 was able to have the harley shops change the maps.
If you dyno tune your bike with the PCV, it shouldnt matter as it adjusts from the map you have. At least, that is how it worked on the honda i toyed with before it was totaled.
To run the PC 5 on the 96, you have to have a 97 or 98 ECM, the connection is the same. I also called Power Commander and talked with one of their techs, and he said that some of the later built 96 models had the ECM that would work.
I have a 98 ultra with a PC-V and have a few maps. 1. Arlen Ness big sucker and stock pipes
2. Arlen Ness big sucker and SE slip-ons
3. Arlen Ness big sucker and 3" rineharts, S&S 510 cam.
I'm looking for just such a fuel map. Dynojet throws up its hands and advises a fuel map for VH pipes. Despondency.
TC88, stock pipes, Arlen ness filter.
