Default 94 Dyna.

Morning all.
I picked up a 94 Dyna Convert a few weeks ago (my 3rd Evo) and started to go through her to fix up a few neglected things.
Replaced Front/rear wheel bearing and engine mounts, broken/loose bolts etc and the old girl has been running great.
Until last Sunday when it blew the front head gasket, well I got her home and last night had a chance to start pulling her down, found the top engine mount is shot so I will replace that.
You can see from the photos that two of the head bolts were loose, as in finger tight, also the blown head gasket, the heads/valves look ok but I will give them a clean up and re-seat.
The Bore and pistons look ok and you can still see cross hatch or hone pattern in the bore, but I did find I have adjustable push rods so I will be taking her down to cam level so I can check what cam I have and to see if the cam bearing has been changed, the lifters are quiet so I wont replace them.
A question....I there any way of telling what brand pushrods I have so I can adjust them correctly when I put her together again? I will finish tearing her down today and keep you informed with what I find but then I cant do much for 3 weeks as work is crazy at the moment.

Cheers.

.
Check your cases...the cylinder studs are bad to pull out the threads or crack the cases.

Wow, looks nasty. Do they all do that, or only up to a certain year?

Unless they are marked ( don't think my S&S were) best way I know how to figure it out is go buy a Thread Pitch Gauge.
Then you will be able to find out how many threads per inch are on the pushrod & go from there.
They're not that expensive & everyone who does their own wrenching, needs one in their tool-box.
Or, measure the overall length of one of the push rods, mark the adjuster & count the flats or revolutions until you lengthen the pushrod 100 thousandths

Ok, have her stripped down and cam out.
Anyone able to identify this cam? I have searched the forum and google with no luck
On one lobe It has FB326-2
Another has 19-92.
Plus the Stamped numbers in Photos.
Nothing on end of cam....

Cheers.

From what I can find, it looks like a Crane FireBall cam. 6th from the top.

Cheers mate...well there you go.
I was told by the p.o who was the 2nd owner that the bike was stock, but he knew stuff all by the sounds of it.
So I have adjustable pushrods and Fireball cam on a stock bore motor.

Are the studs ok? I was wondering how someone manages to get a head bolt (or 2) loosening itself. I snapped a back bone when I had to take my top end apart
