EVO Crankcase Breathing
The timed breather obviously turning slower at low RPM.
So you might feel a longer larger puff of air?
I have no clue what other vent you could be playing with.
No matter as monometer is not a valid tool to use on a Harley V twinn
"to adjust timing, look in this hole that's blowing a bunch of oily air at you at the speed of sound while running circles around your bike to make small adjustments each pass..."
Fugging circus timing these bikes I tell ya. I can see why so many people just get that Ultima thing on eBay for $160. Set it to TDC and let the little green board with all the magic chips do the work. I'll be converting my timing inspection hole to the oil return off the turbo once that project gets under way.

Like a lot of Evo owners, I have some oil carry-over coming out the breather hose. More at idle speed, than at cruising speed.
I'm no typist! It is a vent line and not a "cent" line. I did not realize ba typo offended so many... LMAO!
I knew it was a scent hose.haa...Just funning with you but I did not know where you had it terminating. Lots of knuckleheads unhook it and vent it to the outside. Glad you still have it hooked up.
Yours has the timed rotary valve. But to answer your question, not a clue unless at the higher RPM. Maybe the rings blow out harder and seal better. That way there is less blow-by. If you put a vacuum/pressure gage on it, do you ever see a vacuum? Know when I balance twin carbs on V-Twins, the vacuum jumps between vacuum and a slight pressure. So I have a two hose setup with a column of heavy oil that I use. I have seen a couple that were worn and actually ingested my oil before I could catch because they were so far off.

As i am thinking of doing it the other way finding TDC and drilling the points cover method
And you get single fire ignition, for what that's worth.

Same thing ? I think.
Even so, TDC has to be known as Daytona TT has no clue where it is.
It is dependent on the install (at least with Daytona)
Easy to make out of an old spark plug.
Set it to stop the piston a few degrees before TDC, make a mark, rotate backwards until the piston contacts the stop tool again, make another mark, TDC is halfway in between, same method to set up a degree wheel.
