Idk, but i would certainly like to know how you know???
That's funny, right there!
I was wondering the same thing. Never thought about putting a gauge on the crank case vent.
As to the why, never thought about that either. I suppose there could be some weird, dynamic pressure wave effects going on where various pulses are harmonically cancelling each other.
Believe it or not we have a program on a laptop that records crankcase pressure, it documents different rpm's, engine heat and can actually drop cylinders to load other cylinders. The recorded run is sent to Navistar and they determine if a engine under warranty gets replaced.
Yea I know a manometer will dictate loses.
They are used all time in dyno shop to measure piston ring blow by.'
As in bigger engines.
I want to see how he did this on a little V twinn
Any gauge he could put on a V-twin will be flopping all over the place unless you seal the passage and put a very small hole for air to bleed thru, but then you're not getting a very accurate reading now are ya?
Anyone who's pulled the timing plug knows just how much of a shitshow is going on in the crank when she's running.
Idk, but i would certainly like to know how you know???
I removed the air cleaner cover on the S&S carb where the crankcase vent line terminates and cranked it up. there is more air coming out at idle, as compared to 2,000 RPM. Why?
I'm no typist! It is a vent line and not a "cent" line. I did not realize ba typo offended so many... LMAO!
