Several of you have helped me as I familiarized myself with my FXR2 and its EVO motor. Thanks for that. Just wanted to show a pretty shot I took of it the other day. I like cafe fairings, but I’d need it painted. Unfortunately HD doesn’t give the paint codes for CVO bikes, which is an incredibly dick move considering they no longer make/sell the paint. So I found a custom paint guy who was very highly recommended by my dealers parts guy, who does their custom work.
He did an amazing job matching the stone cold blue, which is purple in some light, and blue in other. It really is a perfect match. So here she is:
I also picked up some 12v 5mm red, green and blue LED’s and replaced the dim incandescent warning lights in the handlebar clamp. I could never see if my blinkers were still flashing on a sunny day. The LEDs are considerab brighter and a perfect solution. Got a new connector and crimped on new pins. Easy job, and a very worthwhile upgrade.
Which reminds me. It seems the signals cancel awfully fast. I timed it at 4 seconds while moving at neighborhood speeds, a bit longer at highway. Are they supposed to cancel that fast?
All that’s left on my list is a second rotor up front, but I’m having a hard time finding a dual disk right slider in chrome. I’m beginning to think I’ll have to find a standard (not chrome) slider and chrome it. Once that’s done, so will I be, I think.
