Take a hammer with a wooden handle and whack the bushing a couple of times from the inside of the case pushing the bushing outward. They can walk inward over time.
Success with a 8lb. hammer and a brass drift. got the pawl, washer and snap ring on. Installed the gear set and shift drum. Just shifting it by hand I can see huge difference, cant wait to ride it. Thank guys.

That bushing took a little more then what you guys are thinking to get it to move, plus the brass drift didnt harm anything. NO TRANSMISSION PARTS WERE HARMED IN THE BUILDING OF THIS TRANSMISSION. Thanks again guys. Will report back with a test drive update.

Got everything back together and oiled up. Went for my first test ride this afternoon, Up and downshifts with a firm, positive click. The Baker N1 shift drum is awesome!! Neutral never been so easy to find. A big thank to all you guys for your help.
