No way in hell yer Harley will even come close to Achieving "negative pressure"... tho logic tells us it may...Experience Shows it is Impossible...Best we can hope is to let 'er breath uninhibited..and trust me... it will all be Exhale!!!
And yes... the head breather would need to be pretty badly Sumped to get oil outside the System...
I bet letting a Stroker Breathe thru those Heads is gonna be challenging... Drag Racers do it completely Differently... But... We ain't racing... just want to do the best we can with what we gots...
That would be correct on the negative pressure crankcase. And don't forget the amount of blow by on the rings.. years ago they Incorporated the PCV valve to perform 2 functions, one was to help evacuate the Positive Crankcase pressure and the other one is too recycle the unburned has trapped gases in the Crankcase. That's pretty much what the head breather does.... EPA...
As for the stroker and breathing, it's also bored which means more volume as well. I only have issues at higher RPM......
Man thank you guys. Some of this is pretty advanced; but I love what I'm learning. So as I'm reading through the thread, I've started asking myself why I have an oil cooler even on the bike. 89, fxstc CV carb swap out and some V&H short shots. Oil cooler is the style that was probably put on in 1989 as well. Living in Cleveland, OH. I'm starting to think the cooler isn't worth having on it. Thoughts?

While I probably wouldn't buy one if I lived that far north but since you already have it then keep it as it can only help and damn sure won't hurt.
I disagree that oil coolers are Good... necessary Evil, if ya live where it is hot... But... again... anything at all in the oil return line is a bad thing... Wonders why the MoCo decided to put the oil filter there... ensure you have the Absolute correct oil filter in place, and if Unnecessary... why plug up the return line with a Cooler...
When it comes to oil coolers.......... To each their own........ That's all I'l say............................................... .........................................
Any idea what would cause a case breather on a 91 with a steel Jims breather to eat into the case a little bit and basically get stuck almost like its welded there it wont turn or come out move at all
