as far as tachs I kind of like having one! but I have been known to be a gadget guy! but like Omaha says when I am on a bike with out one not really missing it either?
now while I'm riding on the highway next to my buddy with his Street Glide doing 75 miles per hour I can compare my RPM to his six speed just to see how huge the difference is.

That reflection is good enough for something you really ain't going to see now I just need to install and wire. Now I have to double-check my service manual because the tachometer goes to the negative on the coil and I think that is the blue wire and the white is hot I can't remember.

When I built my bracket mount I ended up cutting away a bit so that I could remove the tach without having to pull the wire all the way through the bracket.
Something like this

Sorry about the crappy lines but that's about the best I'm capable of on a computer.

Yeah Tex did the same thing but I wanted to keep it tucked as low as possible.

Gotcha, I was worried about cracking because of all the **** I just went through with my tank mounts cracking. Hopefully it's strong enough.

Good job, looks sharp!
i only use the Tach for two things, launching it at the Strip, and I can tell when it’s in 5th on the highway.
It’s a Evo softail dash mounted Auto Meter, speedo/Tach
