Nice ride! But you are comparing a modded bike to a non-modded one. I see these comparisons all the time in the car forums where the guy running the older vehicle claims his old ride is faster than a new ride from the showroom. Unfortunately, when someone mods that new vehicle, the results are quite different.
Very true, but a modded new bike will come up against a bigger cubed Evo, a bigger cubed Evo will come up against a bigger cubed Twin Cam, a bigger cubed Twin Cam will come up against a Procharged big cube. It is just a viscous cycle of big wallet or credit card racing, let's just let Ace enjoy riding one hell of a older nice bike in the world of technology.

"It is just a vicious cycle of big wallet or credit card racing" ... Yep, Cubic Dollars usually beat Cubic Inches ... at least for a short time.

Decent stage one and a 30/70 final drive upgrade.
Never really tested other than what the seat of my pants tell me its a really fast machine.
Making it faster for me means having to really do a huge upgrade of my brakes and suspension.
As is o, there are times when I’m going faster than what these componets can handle. So I try and behave.
That, or get a Ducati. Love V twins.
Couldn't help that last... Know that there are 10 times more Stockish bikes than all out race machines.....
Id say your missing the point biggley.. Every year HD makes bigger engines with more valves and more spark plugs equal mor cubic and mod technology but I pop on a Pure Evo design engine with less cubes for 1/3 the cost and you want to cry about it. Point is my new antique stock evo 111 with no extra valves and plugs will smoke a higher money bigger inch engine and just just want to cry about it. Very funny Id say.

So when HD every year mods their bikes with cubic inches and multi valves & spark plugs that dont count??? My S&S 111 is a stock configuration Evo with 111 cubic inches, no mods at all.
