Never really tested other than what the seat of my pants tell me its a really fast machine.
From my limited experience, seat of the pants is very subjective. I remember when I installed my bolt-in EV-27 cam and had some headwork done on my Fatboy. I thought the machine was fast. It was loud, it rumbled, it shakes and vibrates when you take off, etc. It had the WOW factor. At the time, I wasn't riding my Honda 600F2 very often. Soon after the upgrade I got back on the 600F2 and realized how slow my Fatboy was, even with the minor work I had done to it.
All this purse swinging because a guy is excited about his bike being faster than a stock Harley? That list includes just about everyone except another guy on a stock Harley.
I just wanted to apologize to all the new 2018, M8, 117 CVO Street Glide owners for me being a total A hole but I just cant help myself. My 1997 Dyna, stock S&S 111 just has to roll on and walk off from a $30K beauty and I feel real bad afterwards. I feel So bad I have to drown my feeling in a couple brewskies. I feel so much better after my confession of sin. Please forgive me for future sin cause I just cant quit.
No your not...... Cut the ****. I know every time I blow away another bigger better Harley with my little Evo it puts a **** Eatin Grin on my face... LOL....

exactly!
As a kid, ai road raced mostly middle weights (550-750cc) but also competed in super bike division durin the latter part of the eighties to early nineties. Think Gxrs and cbrs... Very fast bikes.
Trust me, my slim is fast

nope!
Seems to me Ace is calling almost everybody out.
Persenally, I know hes got me beat by almost 2 sexonds with his stock 111. And if I were him, I would feel very comfertable talkin smack.
He knows we can all appreciate how he feels too. And on here, its more than welcome as long as you know your place in the food chain
The best is when a guy finally catches up to you at the red light and as he stops, looks at you and exclaims "what the ****!"
I haven't had an encounter with an M8 but it's happened with some twin cams with stage whatever. Funny thing is, my bike is not all that. Just a mild cam, bump in compression, a couple of minor adjustments here and there. Still only 80 cubic inches. It's never been on a dyno but if I would dyno it, the numbers probably wouldn't be that great.
To me, the Evo is Harley at its peak.
I'm really hoping to be back in the saddle this summer.
I really didn't pay enough attention to this thread but as I'm reading through it, I wish you the same Prot... Hope you have a better year and will be able to put on a few thousand miles...
