Mulling over another project and wondering if an early model TC88 (engine, trans, primary) will fit in a late 90's touring frame that originally had an Evo. To be specific, 96 Touring and 2000 TC88 drive train from touring bike.
And don't ask, "Why would you do this???" There's no powertrain to begin with. Project dictates the rolling chassis with tins only is available. I know about the ignition and electrical wiring, that'd be the easy part.
If it'll bolt up, it'll happen. I think it'll work. The whole primary is the same, as is a number of the engine mounts, and I know the exhaust is swappable across those years as well.
I have done several 103 + 6 speed swaps into late 90's and early 2000 bikes...
they do go in, pretty straight forward install.. gotta watch belt alignment, may need to swap to a different rear pulley (depends)

Great news, thanks man.
That's the one thing I've heard is the pulley offset and I might need a spacer in the wheel.
