Running lean?
My bike sat for years. Then wouldn't run right. Barely made it home after it warmed up. I'm not a carb guy, but tore it apart and there was a crack in the diaphram on the account pump.
If the CV was not bought already rebuilt, buy a rebuild kit (gaskets, accel pump diaphram...) and tear it down, clean it up, and rebuild it. It probably needs done if you don't know the history of the carb.

Modern fuels combined with the super hot plugs Harley puts in their engines make plug reading all but impossible. Accurate AFR is acquired by the use of a wideband O2 sensor in the exhaust.
