The only way to torque that nut is with the special tool, or a home made tool...
You saved a fair amount of labor money by doing this yourself, buying tools may make it a wash, but you will have the tools.
Tools to remove primary components are must have IMO.
Your going in further than I had to. I only needed to replace the inner primary seal at the mainshaft, and the shifter shaft. The kit I bought had the jackshaft seal, and the bolt tabs which I replaced.
I didn't touch the drive pully. Follow the FSM when you put everything back together. Make sure you RTV the bolts, holes, and the transmission where it meets the inner primary cover like the FSM states. My bikes dry with no leaks. I have a 98 Road King classic.

Reason: additional info
Going to see if I can borrow the tool from 2 fellas local to me who I know that are both Evo guys...hopefully I get lucky, I'd like to button this all back up this week.
I didnt need to tear this far into it, it was very obvious that it was the starter jack shaft seal that was leaking, but the transmission sprocket was finger tight, so I ended up removing it and figured a new oil seal back there couldnt hurt.
Havent looked at the installation instructions in the fsm yet, but there was rtv when it was coming off, so I'll make sure I reapply some on assembly.
