Tool bag tool

Thought I'd share this with ya. I remember seeing a piece of drive chain welded to a spark plug socket years ago, I took it a step further. A while ago I broke a 3/8" universal joint and chucked it in the tool box, while moving I came across a piece of drive chain to something and set it aside. Today I took the drive chain and punched out the end roller then drove out the pin holding the joint together. I had to bend the end of the chain a little to fit inside the end piece. I used it on a couple of bolts and it seems to work well. I'm adding it to my tool bag. Here's the end result:

That's pretty clever. I have a bucket of "junk tools" just to make stuff from. Pretty sure I threw away all my old drive chains, though. Oh well.

Weld or pin a spare socket to the other end of the chain (that fits on whatever the preferred ratchet drive size 3/8 or 1/2) and now you have a nice flexible extension also. YD

I was actually looking at a 1/2" universal today thinking of pulling it apart and using it on the other end. Then I'd have 1/2" drive one end and 3/8" on the other. But then if I need 1/2" I've got bigger problems.
