Good day, gents.
Its been a while since Ive posted but I have a situation & need advice.
Just found a new old stock S&S 124 motor for sale, real cheap.
Less than half price. Only seen pics of said motor, but other than looking a little dusty, its a new engine.
Guy says hes had it for bout 7 yrs, kept it in his living room & has to sell due to a divorce.
Been there, done that. Says hes rotated the engine routinely & like I stated, kept it , indoors & has all the paperwork.
Dont really want a 124 but would be fun or could flip for some profit.
Suggestions welcome.
Proven to be un-fired buy it, just sounds a little fishy a $6500 motor has just been setting around. From experience on a used big motor, it would be wise to pull the heads and inspect the cylinders, those big cubes can get hot and have seen some full throttle.
Question I have is what would I build with it?
That!
If I knew how LOL
And for some odd reason this morning, all that comes to mind is a full blown out modern dayish custom tubular space framed American V twin road race monster
Going to look at engine , tomorrow. Guy is set on $3500.00.
Do they pre-run these motors at the factory? Was gonna focus on exhaust ports for signs of
running. Really more engine than I want. I was planning on building a 114.
Was planning on buying it & turning a profit, but as old as it is itll come with no one warranty &
may scare buyers away.
Dont know if I want to sit on it for a long time trying to sell it.
Because everybody needs a 124" Evo in their kitchen.
Not only that but a later model FXSTSB Bad Boy in the living room.
Went & looked at motor & best I can tell its new old stock .
Cant get cash until tomorrow & another party is supposed to come & look at it so may loose out.
One of those , first one with cash gets it.
And I get that. Thats life.
Well, I hope you get it. That would really make my 93 FLHS fly...
Probably too much motor for this old man.....
Yeah more motor than I want to deal with.
Anywho , as stated another party came with cash , yesterday, & scooped it up with cash in hand.
Win some , ya loose some..
Dont really feel bummed out, because I was just gonna flip it anyway.
Besides , Ive already dumped a load of money in the Lowrider, this year so all I need is dry weather.🙂
