Sometimes the most economical thing to do is spend some money on the right thing first.

You got me curious - Killer Motorcycle Products was the place I was thinking of that cleans, mods and rebuilds the CV's. Here are some forum member reviews, they are on ebay and auction their services.

98hotrodfatboy,

Speaking for myself, thanks for the link - $484 for the whole kit and kaboodle is a great price!

That's what they say for buying a bench vise. After having broke two of the Chinese knockoffs, I'm about to experience it first hand.

Don't get me wrong about S&S and the CV as well as the Mik... In the right hands a carb can be manipulated to do pretty much what you want... I've never matched carbs on the same motor but I do know how responsive and easy to tune the S&S is. Because of the tapered design of the Venturi (as in Holley carbs) For their diameter, the air speed is accelerated which helps in better atomization of the fuel.. Now I do have a loaner 89" stroker motor in my 98 that has a 42 Mik without an accelerator pump on it (it's been worked) and I must say it does perform very well. Because I have so much time on my hands lately I am going to try the S&S on it to see which one is actually a better performer. By that I'm talking all around... It'll be a week or 2 but like I said, I have plenty of time as of late.....

You need to remember that there is a "HUGE" difference between pot metal and Pittsburgh Steel..... Lol....

Why do you need to keep rebuilding the CV carb? The CV Carb is actually pretty good and there's lots of information around on tuning it.
