I don't recall the cable brand.
The clutch cable worked fine when I installed it about a year ago.
The problem occurred when I readjusted the clutch recently.
I adjusted it because it was getting hard to find neutral.
I readjusted it again an ran the adjuster in and out several time to make sure the threads weren't hanging up.
I still get the same problem.
The clutch disengages when I pull on the lever.
The clutch engages completely before the lever is all of the way out.
When the lever is pulled all of the way in, the cable stops the lever before it gets to the grip
I do have enough free play in the cable..
I put about 500 miles on it over the holiday and everything works ok, it just doesn't feel right that the lever won't reach the grip.
1995??? External clutch arm, vs Ball and Ramp??
Yer Clutch Arm is Not in the correct place... Re-read the instructions... That is Not even close to correct... next yer gonna Break the Throw out Cam or "fingers"
They are probably contacting the end of the Main shaft and then you are adjusting the Clutch at the Clutch hub to make up for it...
Easy check... at rest... the Arm and inner cable [yea it is an inner in a Sheath] should create a 90 degree... Right angle... but... that is Not really the method...
Quick look see please..
Course... after all that it may Not be an ols external arm...and I have wasted all of our Time...I am Not that familiar with Newer Equipment...
Lat time I saw this it was the ball and ramp had got itself all crossed up. back off the clutch cable adjuster, take out the clutch centre adjuster and then pull the cover off the right hand side of the tranny, where the clutch cable goes in and check the clip isn't dislodged or any of the ***** out of place. If in doubt, pull the clip, shake all the parts out, put it back together carefully and try again.
