I like the idea of re-using original solid pushrods and staying original but the rocker gasket changeout was a royal pain last time.
I had the joy of doing one rocker twice due to misaligned gasket. on that 3 piece cover system.
It required release of engine link on top, release of engine link on front bottom, disconnection of exhaust supports, disconnection of rear exhaust support at transmission, removal of front motor mount and then front of motor would drop down. Then had to use a cut allen piece to remove top cover with a carb wrench..access was very tight. Just enough to get bolt loose and remove cover.
Kinda/sorta makes someone understand how some individuals drilled holes through frame back bone for access.

It made taking the rocker box bolts out a breeze.
First time I used it was on a friends '92 bagger.
No lowering the front mount or anything it was easy as hell.
You want some fun take the rocker boxes off the rear jug of a softail.
Now that is an annoying pain in the ***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be clear: The original factory cam will be re-inserted.
This is a M & M fuel injected bike with zero leaks in excellent condition.
Many folks have changed cams, lifters and pushrods on EVO bikes but very few post about experience with an M & M fuel injected bikes.

Going to order parts.
I like to study process well before starting a project.
For know it looks like i may order/use:
S & S quicki pushrods
Johnson lifters (standard)
James Gasket cam install gasket kit
S & S cycle Torrington #138 bearing
New stock plastic Harley breather gear
Review and re-use the factory CAM and thrust washer.
Reason for this service is to replace the stock factory caged bearing..i keep reading it is a weak link.
I would prefer to not remove lifter blocks so that alignment of lifter blocks stays factory so i guess i need some magnets or wire to hold lifters.
Sucks to spend the money for a bearing but do not want to risk damage.
Adjustable pushrods should make future service in that area easier.
Basically trying to make it so i do not have to service area for another 50,000 miles.

Down side of CAM replacement would be that bike is an M & M fuel injected bike.
Limited information available in regards to fuel maps.

I tried doing that but the lifters cant be removed from the inside. The pinion shaft is in the way. The tappet blocks have to come out.

IM, you're almost always the answer- man for the m&m questions. Makes it odd to refer this out, haha. My friend Jasper86, on this forum, has a set of the upgraded injectors. His bike was bought used with the stage 2 kit already installed but then he went nuts and to a Wood W8H.... there went the fuelie.

I will have the gaskets anyway so i can remove blocks.
I will get some bolts for alignment if needed.
