OK, it bugs me a little bit when somebody asks a question and gets no response.

So, since I know a little about electricity and electronics, but nothing about flhtc motorcycles, I'll give my opinion and let somebody who actually knows jump in with the correct info...

Looking at the pic, I think you're adding two extra lamps to your brake/running light circuits. The factory brake light uses a two-filament lamp, one for the running light and one for the brake light. I'm assuming the two extra lights also have a running light filament and a brake light filament.

The correct thing to do is figure out the amperage that will be added to both circuits with the added lamps. To do that you need to know the wattage/current of each filament of the added lamps and the current-carrying capability of the wiring in both of those circuits and see if the existing circuits will be OK. Not that easy to do, in my opinion.

Since most manufacturers tend to design in a pretty hefty safety margin to avoid expensive lawsuits due to electrical fires, I'd guess you could add two more lamps by tapping into the existing wiring for those circuits and both circuits will be fine. But I really don't know for sure.

Now let's sit back, sip our adult beverages, and let someone give us the real scoop.

I tapped into the Existing wires. But both Bulb filaments stay on. Pretty sure I have the right wires. I looked through my factory wiring diagram.

Do you have two wires for each of the new lights? One should be for running lights, the other should be for brake lights. And it probably grounds through the socket/bracket to frame ground.

If both filaments are always on, it sounds like you've somehow got both filaments wired to the running lights circuit?

If wired correctly, both filaments should do exactly what the stock brake/running lamp does.

Well....

There is no brake light relay on that bike.

What wires did you connect to, where are they, and what color are they?

Did you check these wires with a voltmeter to find out which one was run light, which one was brake light?

The brighter filament should be wired to the brake lamp circuit, the low power filament should be wired to the run light circuit, it doesn`t get any more basic than this.

Those circuits can easily handle the load of a couple of extra bulbs.

But, from a purely aesthetic standpoint....That thing is really ugly....sorry..

honesty,,,,

After you get the wiring sorted, replace all three bulbs with led bulbs and don't worry about the amperage load.

Each lamp should have 2 wires. 1 for the running lamps and 1 for the stop lamps.

The ground for that is made through the mounting to the bike(frame).

Ran one for 5 or so years.

Some folks fitted them on Yamaha Ventures

The load equalizer is for turn signals, to stop them from blinking too fast,
the run and stop lights will be OK with LED's
