My Norton did not have a drain plug.
I'm almost there. Frustrating

So is there no replacement primary cover available that has the newer style o ring drain plug? Hell I can't even find a replacement stock plug to try out either.

I know you can fit up to an '06 outer primary to your bike.
The stock plug is still available at the dealership.
Part number 739A.

Thanks. Will probably try a new plug and some tape first. After that the cover is coming off.

I used the Teflon tape on mine. Went around the plug about 8 times, trimmed the "overage" that went inside. Tight as a drum.
Did this for 21 years.

Ran the **** out of the bike yesterday. It stopped leaking now. Wonder if the oil thickened up with use.

I used Hylomar on the threads of the primary and transmission pipe plugs when I had my Evo Softail. Over 200,000 miles and never leaked a drop. Didn’t have to be much more than finger right either.
