If anyone is in the Rockford Illinois and would be willing to come help me finish up my ape install I would really appreciate it my first bagger and I’m stumped currently will compensate
I’ve got a 97 Electra standard I can’t figure out how to get the radio out to tighten the riser clamps all I can find is videos on newer TC models... also the cables need to be rerouted externally I got the clutch side no problem however the throttle pull and return will not come out of the switch housing I’ve yanked on them for hours and they won’t budge everyone just says pull them hard well lol that isn’t exactly working.
My 98 ultra has 2 hex screws on each side thru radio brackets after outer fairing is off.. Bitch to see and get to. You'll need ball end hex wrenches for this, good lighting, and moving some wiring out of the way. Ken

Okay thanks and what about the throttle cables that seem permanently stuck in the switch housing lol

Take the top off the throttle assembly and your see how the cables are released, loosening the adjusters helps get slack and holding the butterfly open on the carb also gives more slack to release the cable from the throttle roll mechanism. My cables were aftermarket and have a brass cone/ball at the end of the cable that can fall out so be aware of it.
If you have the cables release then all it is tension clip, may need some PB Blaster and keep working it but nothing else holding the cable in the housing

They can be Very stubborn to get out. Get penetrating oil of some kind (PB blaster, WD40, or the like) soak it down and let set.
Reapply every few hours and try to get them out.
When I was replacing the cables, I have cut the cable and gotten the housing on a piece of wood. Used a punch to drive them out.
