Default FXR front mount

Is there a mount that feels similar to the factory mount? I replaced my old HD 79B mount with a 79D, today, and had to take it right back off. The bike shook like my shovel on a bad day. I put the old one back on and all is good. I've seen lots of aftermarket mounts, but I don't want to have to throw any more of them away.

Should do. Having owned Buells for many years I still get most of what I want from my local dealer. They are 'Harleys' after all! The only things I've looked for elsewhere to date are brake pads - even Harley brake fluid works!!!!

No dumb questions.

My $0.02, having been through a few front mounts on my bagger, is they all seem to start out stiff. After a few hundred miles they seem to settle in.

I replaced my 79B with the 79D a number of years ago. It did vibrate a bit more at first, but it has smoothed out considerably very shortly after the install. This is probably a stupid question, but after you loosely installed it did you start the motor, and let it run for a while so that it would find its seat?
