I took mine off, hung it up and sprayed carb&choke cleaner down the inside to flush out. Then squirted cable lube down until it came out the other end and let it drain overnight. Smooth as butta.
My clutch is very hard to squeeze, what is the best way to adjust it to soften it up, I’ve sprayed cable grease already, still a little hard though.
Chuck your old cable in the bin and buy a new one! Once they get to the point of 'needing' lubrication they are past it IMHO. I changed my old Glide's for an H-D Diamondback, although they seem to have been discontinued, but Barnett sell good quality ones. It was so good I removed the Muller easy pull device.
A word to the wise with the various easy pull devices. They work by reducing lift, which on my 1990 bike meant that there was minimum clutch lift, as a result of which finding neutral when in traffic became a pain in the butt. We fitted one to our Dyna TC88 which worked fine, but that had a later clutch with more lift.

See my reply above - Muller is Clutchlite, beautifully made without doubt (they are German!), however limited for those of us with earlier model Harleys.

I go the soft one, and it works really well. Prices have certainly gone up since I bought mine, which was probably 10 years ago. It's well worth it for us Sons of Arthritis club members.
