You do know you have to install a mechanical flyweight advance unit behind that to work, right?

The Dyna S is a very good unit but a decent advance unit (that will hold up over time) will run you around $100. So that, plus the price of the pickup, you've already spent the money for a Dyna 2ki, and a lot more than an Ultima 53-644. Either have proven to be simple and reliable. Almost never hear of a failure, despite the heat.

good point....i need to do some homework.
the most frustrating part for me is the research and testing . i work 7 days a week for the next two weeks. ....i want to buy parts and fix it, but i keep running into road blocks....thanks for the heads up.
I need a mobile mechanic in the Detroit area lol

FWIW my preference is the Dynatek 2ki.

Hoping the install isn't a pain in the ***.....
im assuming the 2ki is a all in one thing, no separate parts needed.

Yes it's all in one.
You will have to trim the wires and crimp on connectors.
Between that and routing the wires and removing the old module and wires is about as hard as it gets.
You don't have to remove the old module but I do for simplicity's sake.

Hey Khennion, late to the game but, don't be afraid to ask away, even with basic questions, especially on this forum. Good group of people here, always willing to help out.

Return the DS-6 ignition and get the dynatek 2000i as mentioned earlier. The Ultima ignition is OK, but the advance curves are a little different. It's a little tricky with the install only because the wiring/routing can be a little bit of a pain, and one wire in the module plug needs to be cut or an adapter installed if you don't want to cut it.

I am in Brighton MI, originally from Detroit, I'm not a mechanic at all but have some experience with these evo's. So if you have a quick question or issue, you can contact me anytime. PM me if interested in exchanging contact info. I remember what it was like when all this was "new to me" and only had a few resources. Always willing to help out. YD
