Hey Khennion, late to the game but, don't be afraid to ask away, even with basic questions, especially on this forum. Good group of people here, always willing to help out.
Return the DS-6 ignition and get the dynatek 2000i as mentioned earlier. The Ultima ignition is OK, but the advance curves are a little different. It's a little tricky with the install only because the wiring/routing can be a little bit of a pain, and one wire in the module plug needs to be cut or an adapter installed if you don't want to cut it.
I am in Brighton MI, originally from Detroit, I'm not a mechanic at all but have some experience with these evo's. So if you have a quick question or issue, you can contact me anytime. yeah i hear ya....i canceled my order and will try to make some time to test the simple things first and work my way back.

took everything apart....secured all wiring and grounds and the bike fired right up....
i still plan on ordering the dynatek 2ki but will probably save it for a winter project.
