Hello folks,
96 Superglide, stock Keihin carb, EV 13 cam, S&S slash cut slip ons, Daytona TwinTec outboard ignition module.
My nose cone cam sensor is getting soft. I suppose itll start dripping goo soon enough.
How long do they last once they start to soften?
Whats the consensus on replacement, OEM or after market?

If you want to do it cheaply go with an OEM or OEM style one.
Personally I prefer the Dynatek 2ki as it will allow your carbureted bike to start faster than and EFI one.
Thanks guys.
THC, The Daytona Twin Tec module covers what the Dyna 2ki does, and yes it starts better than an efi. Now the nose cone sensor is melting so I need to address that.
The OEM one is expensive. I suppose thats because in 96 HD started with the vehicle attitude sensor. Looking at Ronnies microfiche it shows the one for a 95 At $65, for a 96 its $182. Does anybody know if theyre interchangeable save the tip over feature?

One difference is that the Dyna 2ki will never melt.
As 98 posted here's one for $52.45
I just went through this with my bike. The goo is just there to keep parts from moving/wiggling. Your cam sensor will continue to work. Even so, I replaced mine with an Ultima set up. I got the whole deal for about $200 from a local shop and installed in about an hour. I would definitely go that route again.
