Default 1994 Dyna FXDL

I bought my first Dyna today from a HD dealership in Wisconsin. It's a 1994 low rider with about 29k miles. Any things to look out for? I read some people don't like the handlebars. I think mini apes would work well with the bike.

Bike looks decent.. What's wrong with the buckhorns on there? I'll take them off your hands if you're going to apes...

I have a 1998 FXDL.....much like yours. I rode it for many years with the same buckhorn handlebars. They were ok....but.....never really liked them.

Two years ago....put on 2014 Road King handlebars on it. I like these much better....

Anyways.....ride the bike for awhile and then figure out what you want to change.

CONGRATULATIONS...!!
IMHO...You have one of the VERY best bikes ever made by HD. What a gem you've found..!
Coupla "age-related" items come to mind right away. How old is the battery..?? More importantly, how OLD are the tires..?? I'm not asking about tread wear, but actual calendar age.
Check them closely for cracks and splits in the tire body...down in the tread, and on the sidewalls.
Once you know you're safe, and have a reliable battery...like EVOrider said..just RIDE.!! Time and miles will tell you what needs to be changed to personalize your bike to suit YOU.
As far as the handlebars...I'm going to suggest risers. 4" pull-back risers would be the first thing I'd put on it, but that's just me. Straight risers would be my second choice. Either will bolt right on, without any other changes being necessary.

Thanks for all the comments and advise guys. The dealership told me the previous owner rode the bike to this years Sturgis rally and then promptly traded it in for a Street Glide. I can't imagine riding that distance without a windshield and highway pegs! I think I got a good deal on it. I'm just waiting now for Haul Bikes to pick it up! I really wanted to get a 1992 Dyna Custom Glide (silver and black) which is identical to the 1992 Dyna Daytona except the paint color. By the way, I bought the bike from Northwoods Harley Davidson and they have a nice '92 Dyna Daytona for $6500.

There's a '98 Dyna on Craigslist (Houston) but I don't like the look. I think in '95 they changed the frame rake from 32 deg to 28 deg which gives the bike a compacted look. I paid $2995.

Is that including shipping?
If not how much did it cost you to ship the bike down here?

Not many of the 92”s around, I’ve had this one for 8 years. Really partial to the silver/black paint.
