fuel cap oring

Default fuel cap oring

hey guys had a stupid question. I need new orings for my 85 fxsb fuel caps have a little vaca next week and wanna get it out gotta put the painted tins back on. no orings for the caps fell into pieces. Is there an oring I can get from home depot or something to bail me out?Thanks in advance

I'll bet Napa had what you need.. bring a piece of the old O-ring that's left and the tank cap and I'm sure they can set you up..

The stock one is a flat double lipped seal, it seals in the fuel tank insert, just bought some off Ebay. Ran a viton regular oring from Cat engine left over orings for a quick fix turning into 6 years, it still worked.

A new cap with a new gasket is something like $15 from Drag Specialties.

right , reason why I just want the oring, these are OE so Ill probably order some and wait. was just trying to go local.

Surprisingly enough they still use the same ones and 98's.. I just checked mine... Might as well order them before they go extinct...
