I got me a Nostalgia (the one and only '93), but I need help from owners to make it right. The bike was repainted, sad but not a deal breaker. Now I need to know a couple of things about the paint job:
1. Measurements of the black tear. I know for sure the paint on it is way off. and the spacing on it? how do you think it should be centered?
2. Measurements of the badge location
3. If anyone happen to have the correct paint codes of it that would save us some time
4. I think the fenders also have the black paint off. They look phony, maybe wider that they should.
I hope some of the one and only Nostalgia can help me making this one beautiful again, you can PM me if you want this info not to be public
I would look around on the Bay and see if I could find original tins with original paint, the bike will always be worth more with original paint. Even if you just scored the tanks and had the fenders painted to match. Patience is the key on the Bay, I spent two years searching for the correct original paint front fender for my Sportster, one year only two tone paint, but I found one new in the box and it was perfect. Also original paint tanks for my Shovel, found on the Bay. Good luck.

Doing that, hopefully they came up at a reasonable price. But I still need to restore current tins to have the bike in a good shape meanwhile someone decided to sell the old stock. I know the value is on the original pain, but I've no plans on getting ride of this bike anytime soon (if ever). And aftermarket painters have been proven to have better quality
That is the rub, since PPG was the original paint on the bike.
So do the repaint and rebuild correctly, and it not really going to matter much as your own bike to own.
If you go to sell it, then it comes down to a great repaint bike that matches the orginal paint in every way, verse say original paint that is all chipped to hell isntead.
