Lots of people want to confuse the FLT With the later FLTR, Tour Glide vs Road Glide. The fixed fairing looks similar from a distance so it's an easy mistake but they are different animals, especially concerning the headlight mounting. HD and aftermarket make a complete plug n play unit for the Road Glide, but the Tour Glide uses the H4467 sealed beam like early FXs and Sportsters.
Rizzo, here's the FLT mounting bucket. Easy to see why LEDs aren't in many Tour Glides.
These are pirated pics. If you look closely, the inner bucket, the part that adjusts has only a about a 2" hole in the center for the electrical plug and form fits very closely to the back of the bulb.
So, it'd take a lot of careful cutting to even get a low profile Led in there and the whole assembly will be butchered pretty bad, but do-able I guess. I gave up on the idea since saving amps was my intent and Leds pull more than the sealed beams. These assemblies are occasionally available on ebay but are usually in worse shape than these, and even the ratty ones aren't cheap.
No confusion, I owned a FLT and understand they are different. That being said, jonnycando confirmed that the back of the bucket can be removed and the LED's installed successfully.
OP - if you use the rear lock on the bags and have fully removable bag lids, drill a hole in the lid tab that slides into the slot on the bag and put a small clip through the hole to keep the lid from flying off if the locking hook doesn't catch properly. The covers can be hard to come by and they're usually pretty beat up if you can find it after it flies off the bag

thanks for the tip on the bags....i saw that mentioned somewhere else and thought it was a good idea. Didnt think about the lids being almost impossible to replace, but with zero aftermarket parts out there its cheap insurance to put a pin in
So I've ran leds in my shovel for the last 3 yrs and been really happy with them.
Dont know why ive never thought of throwing them in the TG but this thread got me itching to do so. I live in the sticks in southern Oklahoma but today I decided to go to my favorite somewhat local Indy and pick up a set. I picked out the shallowest set they had and actually they where smaller than the oem bulb. Room to spare.
Anyway, stoked with the look and very pleased with the brightness/pattern.
Many thanks to the OP for lighting (lol) a fire under my ***
My seat is one from the newer frame, after 1996. It works with some modifications. I was able to bend my seat as it has a metal base. Im guessing if you bent a plastic or fiberglass one this far it would break. Mine is a mustang daytripper. Good for about an hour of riding at a time. Cant really help on a solo seat though, maybe someone else can say for sure
Thanks it fits well, gives me a idea of direction
Update, the 98-07 Mustang Super Touring solo on my Roadglide has a metal base, I'm in, thanks for the info

Im impressed. wow that bike came out great!! I always liked the handling and protection of that fairing. You took out the fugly, nice job. I put an ev13, single fire ign. and an s&s in mine and never ran better.Watch for the pesky loose front pulley too. What seat is that?
What brand lights did you end up getting? Those are awesome!
