Default Another step closer.

It's been sixteen months since I went down and I'm one step closer to getting back in the wind. Two days before my latest surgery (two weeks ago) I bought a 93 Springer from my local dealer. Because I am still unable to ride I had them deliver it.

It showed up yesterday and I got drunk in the garage with it last night. It's seems like a good scooter on the surface and I think we'll have a long and happy relationship. I think it's probably happy the way it is but I'm gonna change a few things anyway. My only concern is the inner came bearing but because of the low mileage, I'm not going to worry about it for a while. For all I know, it could have already been changed.

It has an S & S on it but I'm not sure which model and won't be able to look until I get the Hypercharger off of it. The plan is find a used standard S & S air cleaner to replace the Hypercharger. It also has what appears to be a Pringel Petcock which gave me a chubby when I first saw it. Exhaust is Vance and Hines and looks pristine. I should be able to get a decent price for it. I 'm a Thunderheader fan and will be looking for a used one to replace the Vance and Hines with.

My right arm is in a sling and I'm looking at several weeks of physical therapy before I can really start pulling **** off and installing new **** but that's OK, anything worth doing, is worth waiting for I guess. I caved to my OL and agreed that the majority of the coin for replacing **** will have to come from selling the **** I remove, along with the extra **** the previous owner gave them that they gave me. I want to replace all the rubber oil and brake lines also but since it's "safety related, I think she won't pitch a bich about that money coming out of the bank. The extra **** is in a tub right now and I'm not even sure what it all is as I haven't looked yet. I did see a H-D sissy bar with the side plates and a pad on it along with belt guard and what looked like a pair of soft tail rear axle nut chrome cover things. One thing I am going to do for sure is either repaint it or find someone that's willing to do a sheet metal swap with me. It has a nice Saddleman seat that I'll be replacing with my Mother Road Customs spring solo seat that's up in the attic.

It sure feels good to actually start seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.

Paint? Damn. Wish I needed those tins. I'd swap with you in a heartbeat. I love those colors!

Love the story about getting drunk with her. That one is a classic.

Nice looking bike IA.

As far as S&S carb...the super E has accelerator pumo, Super B does not. The accelerator pump had s reachable lever that you lift up when starting bike cold.

I believe the lever you speak of is the choke. An accelerator pump gives a squirt of fuel if you crack the throttle. At least that’s the way I remember it. Of course I could be wrong, it wouldn’t be the first time.

PS. Mine does have the lever so if what you said is correct, it must be an E.
