I’ve got the lower piece torqued down on the head, the lifters bled down and the stock pushrods will spin by hand.
I’ve been trying for 3 hours + to get the middle ring of the rocker box to drop in!!!
I’ve tried every direction, turned it this way and that, it either catches on the frame, or the 5/16” bolt heads.
Any suggestions?
On a Softail, you have to put the center spacer in the frame same time the rocker box goes on and work around it. Even then, it's a puzzle threading it all in there...

On the rear rocker box assembly, I had to put the lower and middle pieces in first with the pushrods removed, then drop in the left rear 5/16 bolt, then drop in the pushrods, assemble the rocker arms and shafts, then the remaining screws and bolts.
Bit of a PITA, but easily done.
After I completed the front cylinder, I realized I had a gasket left over... center in the rear rocker box! Lol
