Default Rear rocker box removal

I recently had to take off my rear rocker box and it turned into a jigsaw puzzle.

1. Remove top rocker cover
2. Loosen/remove all bolts in the lower rocker box
3. Remove rocker arms
4. Remove push rods
5. Remove middle rocker box
6. Remove bottom rocker box

I could not get it apart any other way.

Is this how this is done or am I missing something and doing it the hard way?

That sounds about right for some models. They can be a real pain and the re-install isn't any easier!!

The front is MUCH easier to do, so basically you have already been through the worst of it. Also, why did you have to pull the rocker boxes off?

I had to replace the gaskets due to leaking.

Thanks for the info. The manual just tells me what order to put things on an engine that is not in the frame. (not much help)
