Hs anyone done the research? My bike has a Bosch H4 upgrade. I think that they draw a horrendous amount of power but certainly are bright. I rarely/never ride at night so I would like to replace with an LED motor cycle designated lamp so that the power draw would be substantially less. I don't need a any fancy blue unit or the kuryaken blue tooth thing that changes color from [I assume] your phone. Just a standard headlamp and possibly the two driving/passing lights. The would be industry standard G.E. or otherwise lamp part #'s would be great.
Thanks, Frank
I went Trucklite LED's on my bike. I have an amazon sourced 5-3/4" on the Sporty to replace the crapped out HD one I had bought. Amazon also has the 7" type much cheaper than Trucklite:
I put Truck-lites on my FLH five years ago. They work fine (and seem to be holding up fine).
Won't cop to having done any research. IIRC, Prot gave a recommendation on that brand based on his experience with the Jeep world, so I went with them.
I did a lot of looking some time back... so far as LED headlamps, the amperage is really close to the same or slightly higher than modern sealed beams. But if you have an H4 halogen bulb, they're about double amperage of a sealed beam.
Be sure to look for the wattage/amperage when shopping, if power saving is the goal.
"But if you have an H4 halogen bulb, they're about double amperage of a sealed beam" ... and if you go this route ( High Wattage bulb ) be sure to get a ceramic plug for the headlight ... The HD stock plug will melt ... Ask me how I know :<(

A standard H4 headlight bulb is 55/65W, or 55 watts on low, 65 on high, or 55/13.5=4 amps on low, and 4.8 amps on high. The Trucklites, etc., are about 30 watts or 2.2 amps. I measured my Trucklite headlight and the one I put on the Sporty and they are in the 2 amp-ish range.
What size headlight do you need? I have a couple 7 inchers that I have no use for anymore. If 7 is what you are after id be willing to send you one free o' charge so you can give it a shot
