Recently installed an LED from Bright *** Lights, model BAL-1 and the adapter for EVO era bikes. Im really happy with it, super easy install and it so bright, if you cant see it, you are blind. You can easily program brightness levels and different flash options. Kind of pricey though, but worth it in my opinion.

Yeah I'm thinking my problem may be the cheapo Amazon special bulb. I bought a set of bulbs for $18. They worked great on all of my Twin Cam bikes but for some reason the Evo doesn't like them.
The brake light circuit sends system voltage to the bulb socket in the tail lamp assembly, no matter if there is a circuit board or not.
On an 1157 type bulb, all it needs is 12 volts, the rest is up to that led bulb as far as flashing etc.
Does the standard 1157 illuminate bright in that tail light assembly?
Yes, the standard bulb seems to be working just fine. I may have a faulty bulb, as I mentioned above, the LEDs I bought are the Amazon specials that sell for $18 per set.
Yep, $200 is a lot of bread but if it keeps some idiot from slamming into me from behind I think its money well spent. So I'll just have to cut back on the cocaine and hookers for a couple weeks.
