Default LED brake light

I have an LED brake light I ran in my previous Twin Cam bikes that I want to use on my 1995 FXDS. It's one of those really bright lights that flashes 3 times then goes solid when you hit the brakes. By the way its just a bulb that replaces the stock bulb.
I put it in the socket and hit the brakes and there is a delay and then it flashes once and goes off even if I hold the brake lever. Any reason this wont work on an Evo?

I haven't fooled with a lot of LEDS I don't see why it wouldn't
Even tho they use little power they sure seem to need very good grounds to work well.

Just a guess

I wonder if it has anything to do with the circuit boards in the newer taillight assemblies that the evo bikes don't have?

If you just jumper wires from the battery to the "bulb," what happens? That is, one wire on the outside of the base to ground, then either touch the center to the + or run another wire. Does it behave as expected or as observed on your new bike?

Also, is there any kind of aftermarket brake controller box on there? Like a Kury anything?

May need a load resistor in the circuit to make it behave correctly depending on the circuit if it is not CANBUS.

I ran them in a 2009 Road King, a 2005 Super Glide and a 2007 Vulcan.

Ive run this same style bulb in 3 other non CANBUS bikes without a problem.
It just dawned on me that maybe the bulb it’s self is defective. I have a couple of these in my tool box, I’ll try a different bulb and see what happens.

If you figure it out, please let me know! I have been looking into the cluster replacement options (brightassleds) and just haven't pulled the trigger.

I did just narrowly avoid another rear end accident while at a complete stop at a red light.

Not sure if a brighter light will help me be seen more, but it's a little piece of mind and something to do!
