Need timing help
For a carbed motor set the cam position sensor in the middle of the slots to the hold down screw then turn it another 5* on the plate clockwise to advance the timing a little more. Make sure your VOES switch is hooked up and works.. You can verify operation with a vacuum pump.. once confirmed take it for a ride and in 5th gear hit motor cruising on the highway at 2400 rpm slowly tip in on the throttle. If you hear donation turn the cps counterclockwise till it stops.. if you don't here anything on your test ride you can turn it up a little to satisfy your needs.. But getting critical with the timing is not going to increase the performance that much if it's only of a couple of degrees..

Should see it. Sight plugs suck most of the time. Easy to make it hard to see. I would double check static after marking where you are. Sounds like you are where you need to be though with your static time. Keep a eye on plugs and a ear open for any detonation or pinging. I would ride it.
