Entertaining how far we've come and really dates me when you look around and people are talking about evo's in the same way us old schoolers used to talk knucks & panheads. Like they are taking on that aged mystical aura or something

My Evo is my "new" and modern bike. First time I walked into the local Harley shop to buy parts for it, in about 2013, the counter guy told me "I don't stock parts for bikes that are older than I am".

I never thought I'd own a Shovelhead.

You just reminder me of when I walked into dealer in Spokane in about 96 looking for a kicker pedal.

I don't think the parts guy had ever seen one let alone kicked one.

And needless to say, they didn't have one.

First Evo I ever saw was one without black cylinders. My first impression was "looks like a Virago".

Ride with guys that still wear them, funny thing as creature comfort settles in with age, the most vocal one's go to bike now is a 1997 Road King lol, he does have a fleet of killer Shovel's tho.

Been to Sturgis a couple of times, although didn't ride the Evo there but logged 1200-1500 miles each time on it. Second time was a guy trip coming out of Spearfish Canyon with full tanks just turned the wrong way for the hell of it. Rode thru some of the most beautiful relaxing country roads I've been on and considered lost until coming across a remote bar and the owner telling us we was in Wyoming win-win, good day on a Evo and it's always got the job done on long trips over the years.

My first Sturgis trip was on a BSA, my last in 1990 was on my shovel. Have a 17 Road King also, skipped evo's & Twinkies completely.
