Looks like a fun project! This is what I am tinkering with on mine now
When I had forwards, I used a right side shovelhead mount. This allowed me to rig up a master cylinder setup. Left side was from a evo softail. Give me a sec and I'll find a pic
Edit: found some

Honestly, I ran an open primary, 3 different brands. BDL, Rivera Primo and a Baker... After a while you get tired of the noise.. I know I did.. Sold all of them and went back to the most reliable and quiet.. Although the Baker looked the best, it gave me the most problems and was the most expensive.. in the time I owned it I went through 3 clutch basket ring gears and 6, 10 Tooth starter drives.. Baker never resolved my issue.. For the last couple years using that drive, I screwed a 5/8" x 4" fine threaded bolt into the starter drive so I could manually engage the drive to the ring gear... My advice is save the headaches and keep what you have...

I have ran a couple myself. Last one was a BDL 3” open on my 99 springer. They do look cool. They do also get old as stated above. If you put a lot of miles on your bike you might regret it.

True that.. But a loud exhaust never gets annoying... Lol...
i dont do a lot of miles... long rides i do
last 2 seasons i think i put maybe 2k miles on my bike , shes away from nov till april in the garage resting lol
loud exhaust never gets annoying at all ...
think the price of the open is the thing 2k for something that the bike already has, just has chain and has oil ..
love the look but im sure i can find better ways to spend 2 k on the bike lol
I like the way the MC is hidden under the exhaust... Does the heat bother it at all? And yes I do have a mount for the MC, same location as yours... I also like the clean look of the forwards no MC to mess it up.. I'll be looking into the same.. Thanks

So after about 20 years, I'm thinking it's definitely a time for a change.. Ain't gonna happen over night but by next riding season it'll be a chopped Fatboy... I'm tired of dragging the floor boards and being left behind in the Twisties... So I'm thinking a little lift in the front might help me out.. I'm gonna try 2" at first and see how it does.. And thanks to "Architect" I'm gonna give the 2"extensions a try.. nothing permanent, just want to see how it handles.. I already stiffened up the rear and raised it a half inch so I don't think 2"in the front will hurt.. Watch out Jason, here I come.. Lol....
That's a nice bike. Just like what I've been looking for. You should have traded me for my Heritage Classic and you could have chopped that instead.
