Default Time To Chop....

So after about 20 years, I'm thinking it's definitely a time for a change.. Ain't gonna happen over night but by next riding season it'll be a chopped Fatboy... I'm tired of dragging the floor boards and being left behind in the Twisties... So I'm thinking a little lift in the front might help me out.. I'm gonna try 2" at first and see how it does.. And thanks to "Architect" I'm gonna give the 2"extensions a try.. nothing permanent, just want to see how it handles.. I already stiffened up the rear and raised it a half inch so I don't think 2"in the front will hurt.. Watch out Jason, here I come.. Lol....

For what's worth the front end on the shovel is 4" over and I run 12.5" shock's instead of the stock 12" , get all the chicken strip's and haven't drug anything to date.

2" will help and you may need a wedge for the kickstand to get the sitting angle back to normal with the extra up front.

maybe get rid of the boards also ... since changing to 2 inch stretched forwards
i lay mine down on every turn.. i might scrap frame from time to time.. but that's cause im lowered , if i scrap its usually where the swing arm mounts to the frame
if i was oem ride height id never scrap a thing

I was considering forwards but not sure about quality of them out there.. My only true alternative is going with a Softail Custom setup but I don't think that's a direct bolt on like the 2000 up models of the softails.. Who's did you use?

Was that supposed to say "got rid of the floor boards" If so what forwards did you use?

I thought you meant that there were no chicken strips on your tires because you could lean so much, ha!
