Default 1984 FLHTC coil.

I have a 1984 FLHTC the early one. I am puzzled by how the ignition coil is on the bike. I know it goes up front under the tank sort of but when I buy spark plug wires for it they come straight out and there's no clearance for them. does anybody have a picture of this year bike and of the ignition coil. thanks

You have to pull the tank to get at it, no big deal, fuel line, seat, filler panel then 2 screws, one bolt and the sender wire. Other than draining, shouldn't take you over 15 minutes.

Don't waste your time buying pre-made plug wires - they won't work (for long). The front will rub the seam on the tank and the rear is seldom long enough. Been there, done that. You need straight ends on the coil and 90 degree on the plug end to route them like they need to be. Get a universal wire and cut to fit. Be sure it is suppression type, not metal core.
