Getting the rotor on can be difficult at times. Some of them are machined so precisely that you have to get it perfectly aligned to get it on... What I do is I tap the two holes with 3/8 16 tap and I use 3" bolts. I screwed them in and they help me to guide the rotor to make sure I get it on properly... You definitely want a good clean tight fit on those because the sprocket shaft will round it out off it's a loose fit..
What length clutch cable do you guys suggest for 14" bars? The risers are 1"
Stock length is about 51"
Thanks.
Route your old cable the way you want it and see how much more it needs to reach the lever, then add an inch or two, also when ordering a cable, check the measurement they provide for the adjuster location.
Got bad news... trying to install my headlight i noticed something wasn't right. The nacelle somehow when PC got FUBAR'd. It went almost into an oval shape. I did not notice until I went to install the headlight bracket. Kinda annoyed about it since new ones are pricey.
don't mind the wiring. Lots to clean up when I install the tank.
I had to make a custom bracket for the solo seat. Got the Anti Gravity battery in. Amazing how light they are. Waiting on clutch cable and adjustment. Pretty much there.
I did not end up relining the tank. I went the Evaporust route and it came out great. Flushed it really well and filled it with gas immediately. Added a inline filter as well.
Those Handlebar controls are $300 from Dennis Kirk and J&P cycles. I found them on Ebay still in the box for $40.
The front brake calipers were a breeze to rebuild. I wish all brake calipers were that way.
I ended up using a one piece riser from a late model touring. Grinded off a tab and PC it. Works great. The regular rubber bushings were not cutting it at all... I ended up going Arlen Ness Poly bushings. What a hold these things have. I had to grind down the bolts to work, but these bars don't move an inch.
I still need to make the seat mount out of steel bar. It's aluminum right now. It's holding, but not a permanent fix.
The LED bulbs in the dash are a huge upgrade. I couldnt even see the OE bulbs during the day. Neutral was impossible to see.
