Default Full Face Helmets...

Hey, any of you guys using full face helmets...? I've always had 1/2 helmets and I'm tired of the way they lift up off my head giving me a lot of neck problems.. Any of you guys have that issue with half helmets and whatnot, neck problems? Will a full face help to alleviate that... Gonna try this Helmet once I'm back on the road.. Would like pros and cons though.. The nice thing is, this one will match both my bikes... Thanks..

Have you look at modular helmets? I've been wearing them for over 17 years now. Great when you stop and want to drink something without having to remove the helmet. Easier with glasses, built in sunscreen... the pro list is endless.

I have a HJC I-90 now, have been wearing Scorpion's and Nolan's in the past.

I second the modular helmet over a full-face helmet. It made a big difference in comfort on long trips plus is quieter than a 1/2 or 3-quarter helmet. Another advantage is protection from the rain.

If you are interested I have a like new Bell SRT modular in a black XL and a Harley modular black in XXL as I was recently given a Shoei Neotech II helmet by a friend who got out of riding due to health. PM me if you want more info on it.

I got a full face helmet regardless, mainly because I wear hearing aids and needed a helmet to cover them as well so I would not have to take them out when I ride . I have a Sedici and it's not the most expensive or cheap , fits me very well and has good ventilation , along with drop down sun viser .

I’ve use an Shoei neotec (modular) for several years and so far so good… but in the last year I’ve bought an adventure helmet for ride mi ulysses and my africa twins, and I’ve to say that it’s lighter and very quiet, in addition the screen is much larger so the field of vision is greater. The only drawback is the top visor, it doesn't fit much on a custom bike

I have a Daytona real carbon fiber half-helmet in size small that I careful took 1/4" out of the foam and resewed the cloth lining.

It's so small, at first glance, you would think it's a beanee.

About as safe as no helmet.

I use it for around town. I have no responsibilities. So be it

I also have a ultra light, full face Shoeiu in XL. Removable lining and adjustable cheek pieces . It has the wind guard attachment for winter. I have three sets of linings and three tints in the shields.

When I rode year round, it was my first choice. Only problem I ever had with it was you always put your glasses on if you wear them after the helmet. An compared to a half helmet, it does slightly limit side vision.

I carry the Daytona in the saddle bag. If I hit the Interstate to get to a rural area for riding enjoying, I grab the half-helmet

That’s a great looking helmet Bob, I wear a half with no issues, but having a windshield makes all the difference. Limited vision is my biggest gripe when I wear a full face.I know I should with all the bad drivers.

Thanks for all the replies.. I know a lot love the Modulars, they work great but they are pretty pricey. Right now I just want to see if there is a difference.. When I was living upstate I had 4 Snowmobiles so a full face for restricted view really ain't an issue for me... If I like how they feel I'll probably look into the modular.. I remember when they first came out for Snowmobiling, man they were very expensive.. I didn't have $400..... Hell this one only cost me $25 and it fits me perfectly

I have a Shoei RF1100 that sits in the closet. As Ripsaw said, it blocks my peripheral vision. I've been using a HD half for a while now.
